Where To Begin...

Right now, I'm recovering from the flu I came down with on Friday night

(and no, it's not St. Paddy's Day related)!

I woke up in the middle of the night, lucky to make it to the bathroom in time for all my bodily fluids to say, "Adieu!"

I was longing for death, but I'm better now.

Heh.

So. not counting my "Happy St. Patrick's Day" post, let me fill you in on what's going on in the House of Wes:

A week ago yesterday, Magoo had her 5th birthday. Magoo's my middle child, a girl in case the nickname should cause some confusion. As you know, I've sired three

(not 2, nay 4..... 5 is right out!)

children and each one has particular personality traits of mine that makes them, well, mine.

Let me 'splain: Snoofy, my oldest girl of 8, loves to read. She's also my most sensitive child; she has an empathy for those around her that's rare in someone so young. She's my Watcher; she'd sometimes much rather watch what other people do before (or rather than) participating. She has a beautiful voice for singing, but is usually too shy to sing, no matter the encouragement myself or The Wife gives her.

If she was an element, she'd be Earth.

Next is Magoo, who as I've said, just turned 5. She's my Doer, with no real patience to speak of (like her Da). Where her sister would watch someone do something before trying it, Magoo will jump right in. She's a daredevil. When she was 2, she'd climb on top of the couch or anything else taller than herself and (usually naked) fling herself from it. No fear at all. She also has a monumental temper (also mine) that flares hot and fast, to usually die down just as fast (I say "usually"). She has a passionate spirit. Magoo also has a beautiful singing voice, and it takes little encouragement to get her to sing, to my joy.

Of course, her element would be Fire.

Last but not least, is my Baby Boy. Three years old, he shares a lot of traits with both sisters: he likes to watch people, but he's also a doer. He'll sit quietly while Snoofy reads him a bedtime story, and then jump off the couch and onto his head with Magoo. Snoofy's sensitivity and Magoo's sense of adventure. He sings with both his sisters.
Baby Boy is my Laugher, a real joker. I can't count the times when I've had the shittiest day possible, and that boy had me laughing minutes after hitting the door. He has this "look" he gives, peering at you out of the corner of his eye, with this half smile on him that cracks me up!

He most reminds me of the Wind: he can blow in like a storm, tickle you with a breeze, and go like a sigh.

Those are my kids, the fruit of my loins, so to speak.

(Hey Tammi: LALALALALA!) :^D

So. Other than Magoo's birthday, I can't really remember what else went on.

(I hate going off on a rant, even a pleasant one; completely derails my train of thought)

St. Pat's Day was the worst one ever. For years, I was so busy every St. Pat's Day, what with playin' and singin' in pubs, for parties, for friends. It just hasn't been the same without the Music.

Enough for now. Maybe I'll go back to that subject, maybe not. Right now, I need a smoke (while it's still legal!).

See ya later.

  1. Yeah, I was with you on the St. Pat's experience this year... Oh, yeah, there WAS no experience for me this year, no point without the music. I'm not into the green beer crowd, as you know, and no point in trying to do much else in Rockford on the holiday. -=sigh=-

  2. I *disspisse* the green beer crowd, with their "Danny Boy", and their insufferable "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" and all the rest of that beer hall swill. Give me a pint o' the black at the end of me arm, and a grand session with friends any day!

Rockford's a cultural cess pit... wait... that's *another* post...

  3. Hey, I'm part of the green beer crowd. Althought when they try to turn Guinness green, it just looks... wrong.

  4. Contagion: Yeeah, but you're a Scot, so I'll forgive you. ;^)

  5. And when they try to turn Guinness
green, it looks like pond scum or sea slime.

Only an *IDIOT* would want to turn something as inherently Irish as Guinness into any other color than that of "the parish priest" - black with a white collar. :^)
